Herston Caravan and Camp Site offers excellent family camping and caravanning in the beautiful Dorset countryside, but it is also close to beaches and the bustling town of Swanage. The nearby sandy beaches are accessible by foot (15 minutes) car (5 minutes) and train.
Caravanning
The camping ground is level and safe for children. The caravan and motor home pitches are hard standing and fully serviced to include, electric hook up, cold drinking water, and drainage. The pitches will accommodate large mobile homes, such as Winnebago, and single and double axel touring caravans.
Log Cabins
High quality furnishings, fittings and appliances ensure that you
will have the time to relax. The setting and location of the cabins provide the
privacy for that unforgettable romantic long weekend. A bolt hole to
return to after a day out sailing, walking, immersing yourselves in
the natural beauty and history of the area, or maybe just sitting
with the Sunday papers, with a glass of wine and good company. Then
why not treat yourself to the special indulgence of the hot spa tub
and Jacuzzi privately situated on your own deck? A bottle of bubbly
in the steamy spa water is sure to go to anyone's head!
There are five cabins and they sleep up to eight
people with generous space and plenty of luxury facilities. Loads of
indoor entertainment with flat screen TV, Freeview, DVD and CD
player, surround sound and games console connections.
The cabins are located just across the road from our caravan & leisure park, with a well-stocked provisions store and two bars serving good food and drink all year round.

Park Homes
We have 3 Park Homes on the same side as the Log Cabins, Hazel and Beech are a 6 berth that's 1 double with on suite, TV, 1 single bedroom with 2 beds, shower room with power shower, sink and loo. Fully fitted kitchen, dining area with free standing table and upholstered chairs. Lounge three-piece suite settee that is a bed, coffee table TV, DVD and fully double glazed doors plus windows. ELMS is also a luxury park home with the same layout but with two sets of French doors. On the camping side we have 2 static caravan one three bedroom and one two bedroom which we allow dogs in.

Stay in your very own Mongolian Yurt! Our Yurts are decorated with traditional Mongolian designs. Yurts are warm when the weather is cool and cool when the weather is hot. They incorporate a wood burning stove and proper furniture. Staying in a Yurt is sure to be a unique holiday experience which you are sure to want to repeat.
The sizes
range from 5 metres in diameter to 6.7 metres. All have a double futon bed and two single futon beds. Gloriously decorated with traditional curtains. Large extra warm wood burning stoves for cooking or just cosiness. The felt insulation makes our Yurts not too hot and not too cold every month of the year. Come for a weekend holiday or stay for as long as you can. The best site in the UK for yurt holidays. Come and try an alternative camping experience.

Our faclities for 2007 have been upgraded to an even higher standard. Details will be published here as soon as they are available.
There is a fully stocked shop on site which sells all the essentials and local produce including dairy, butchers and bakers plus Purbeck ice cream. A launderette is available for visitors to use.

The extensive Bar with patio is fully stocked to serve all draught beer, fine wines and soft drinks, and includes a wide screen TV.
